Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Wattwander ("we", "us") collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit our website or buy from us, and the rights available to you, including under the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and other US state privacy laws.

Information we collect

  • Order information: name, shipping and billing address, email, phone number and the items you buy. Payment details are collected and processed by Shopify and our payment partners; we do not receive or store your full card number.
  • Device and usage information: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, products viewed, items added to cart and how you arrived at our site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Communications: messages you send us and your email address if you subscribe to our emails.

How we use your information

  • To process and deliver your orders, send order and shipping updates and handle returns and support.
  • To prevent fraud and keep our store secure.
  • To improve our website and measure which products and pages work well.
  • To send marketing emails if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
  • To show you relevant ads on platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and TikTok, where we use advertising pixels and similar tools.

Who we share information with

We share information only as needed with: Shopify (our store platform and payment processing); our fulfilment partner and shipping carriers, to deliver your order; analytics and advertising providers such as Meta and TikTok; email service providers; and authorities when required by law. We do not sell personal information for money. However, sharing data with advertising partners through pixels may count as "selling" or "sharing" under some state laws, and you can opt out as described below.

Cookies and tracking

We and our partners use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to keep your cart working, remember preferences, analyze traffic and measure and improve advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings and opt out of targeted advertising through the tools provided by Meta and TikTok, the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info), or by enabling the Global Privacy Control in your browser. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies and advertising pixels.

Your US privacy rights

Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah and Texas), you may have the right to: know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; access and obtain a copy of your information; correct inaccurate information; delete your information; opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising; and not be treated unfairly for exercising these rights. To make a request, email support@wattwander.store with the subject line "Privacy Request". We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request, and we will respond within 45 days. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. To opt out of the sale or sharing of your information, email us with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information".

Your UK and EU privacy rights

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we process your personal information on these legal bases: to perform our contract with you (processing and delivering your order); to meet our legal obligations (such as tax and accounting); for our legitimate interests (preventing fraud, securing and improving our store); and, where required, with your consent (such as marketing emails, non-essential cookies and advertising pixels). You have the right to access your personal information, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email support@wattwander.store with the subject line "Privacy Request". You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority, such as the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) in the UK.

Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to fulfil orders, meet tax, accounting and legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements, then delete or anonymize it.

Data security and international transfers

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, but no system is completely secure. Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal information out of the UK or the EU, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses, put in place by us or our providers where required.

Children

Our store is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
